DiPrima Lecture
Each year the Department of Mathematical Sciences holds a special lecture in honor of Professor Richard C. DiPrima. Professor Richard C. DiPrima was a professor in the Math Sciences Department and started as chairman of the department in 1972.

Class of ’27 Lecture Series

The Class of ’27 Lecture Series is a special lecture held each year. It was established in 1960 to honor the first chair of the Math Sciences Department, Professor Edwin Allen. The three members of the class of 1927 who established this series are Issac Arnold, Alexander Hassan, and Isadore Fixman.

Inverse Problems Seminar

Sponsored by IPRPI, the Inverse Problems Center at Rensselaer, speakers give talks on inverse problems or related research.

Graduate Talks
The graduate student talks are a series of talks scheduled by graduate students and given by graduate students on a volunteer basis. The speaker may choose to talk about any research or math topic he or she wishes. Previous speakers have given talks as a practice before doing the same presentation at a conference, some have presented talks that they plan to give at their candidacy exam, and others have found interesting papers and presented them to the group (these papers may have little or nothing to do with their research). Some graduate students have given instructional talks on certain software or computer languages.
